Objectives of Women In Business include:
the empowerment of women to enable participation and contribution to the economy in which they play a major role,
to facilitate a process of inter-organisational collaboration for economic upliftment of women to participate in sustainable gender based programmes focussed on a climate of non self reliance and entrepreneurial skills development programmes.
create a platform for the transferring and receiving and ideas, discussions and knowledge through regular networking functions,
provide opportunities to promote businesses, products and programmes through bi- monthly newsletters, the Women In Business website and database,
provide opportunities for public relations and promotion through media coverage,
promote the development of a gender empowerment footprint across both private and public sectors.
Organisational Structure of Women In Business:
Women In Business was formed in 2005 and is now a registered Section 21 Company, overseen by a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee.
Women In Business employs a full time administrator, to oversee the day to day activities of Women In Business and to facilitate member liaison.
The Main Branch of Women in Business is enhanced by subsidiary branches in Raisethorpe and Underberg.
Activities of Women In Business:
monthly networking breakfasts with a variety of dynamic & diverse guest speakers, where opportunities exist for business and emotional support,
promotion of gender empowerment through sustainable social responsibility programmes,
regular intersectoral collaberation with other like minded organisations,
representation at activities and events that provide a platform for marketing opportunities,
focus group discussions and skills development
